Who I Am

Part mechanic. (I just reassembled a 1965 Ford six cylinder engine – and it runs!)

Part historian. (Anything you want to know about the Russo-Finnish Winter War of 1939-40? How about the Second Seminole War? I’m currently writing a book on it.)

Part geek. (The Force is strong in my family.)

me

Part philanthropist. (With a soft spot for Ukrainian orphans.)

Part trainer of circus monkeys. (Not really, but I have 8-year-old twin daughters. Close enough.)

All writer.

I’ve been stringing words together for all my life. My professional career began on a sports desk at a newspaper, then traveled down the agency path and now I find myself going solo as a freelancer. I’ve written about everything from fuel injectors to commercial building roofing systems, from how the ice is kept frozen at the Olympics to how the Supreme Court operates. I’m always up for learning something new!
